The Elephant Pharm chain was founded in Berkeley, California, in 2002, by Stuart Skorman and Anthony Harnett — to provide the public with a natural supermarket and pharmacy. Elephant Pharm closed for business in Los Altos, Berkeley, San Rafael, and Walnut Creek, California in 2009 due to changes in the economy and the tightening of the credit market. Trivia: Stuart Skorman is the founder of Reel.com and Empire Video. Anthony Harnett was the founder and former owner of the Bread & Circus chain of natural food stores in New England that was later bought by Whole Foods Market Inc.
In 2007, close to $800,000 was spent on this dock in Moss Landing, California — located on the shore of Monterey Bay. Shortly afterwards hundreds of sea lions took over the dock — to sun themselves, socialize and find a resting spot. This photo was taken in April 2009.
